Lahore Medical and Dental College currently offers the following education programmes :
Undergraduate Medical Education (MBBS)
Students are accepted in the first year class for the five years program
leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
(M.B.B.S).
Undergraduate Dental Education: (BDS)
Students are accepted in the first year class for the four
years program leading to the degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery
(B.D.S.).
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
Students are accepted in the first year class for the five years program leading to the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
Students are accepted in the first year class for the five
years program leading to the degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
B. Sc. Allied Health Sciences
Students are accepted in the four year class for the four years program leading to the degree of B. Sc. Allied Health Sciences.
Ancillary Educational Programs:
Preparations are underway to offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing, Medical Technology, Computer Sciences.
Paramedic Training Institute:
A Paramedics training Institute has been established in the
college and is offering Paramedical Courses in different disciplines
that is Dental Hygienist Dental technician, lab technincain, O.T.A's and
others.

Eligibility
|
The study and practice of medicine requires integrity, compassion,
scholarship, responsibility, devotion and intellectual curiosity. The
individual€™s educational and other life experiences prior to medical
school should demonstrate and strengthen these qualities.
Qualifications For Acceptance Into Medical School: A
Strong academic record in Matric and Premedical F. Sc. Courses (or
equivalent) is necessary but not sufficient criteria for admission. The
admission Committee looks for evidence of scholarship in the form of
research or advance study beyond the classroom, service to the
community, leadership abilities, integrity and excellent interpersonal
skills. Lahore Medical and Dental College seeks students who value human
diversity, exhibit a love of learning, have an appreciation of science
and art of medicine and are called to serve others.
Pakistani: 1.
The students age at the time of admission should not be more than 25
years and not less then 17 years. This is in line with the admission
regulations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. 2. Bsc and M.Sc,
with 60 percent marks in aggregate, provided the applicant has completed
intermediate or equivalent certification in Pre - Medical group
achieving not less than 60 percent marks. 3. A minimum of 60 percent
score in Premedical F.sc. Course is required as the basis of application
for admission into Lahore Medical and Dental College course. An entry
test, a series of interviews and Medical clearance certificates are
other important components of the admission process.
British: British
A level (and 6 O levels) in three subjects including Biology, Physics
and Chemistry. There should be no failure in these three subjects.
American - Canadian: American or Canadian high school diploma certifying formal schooling of 12 years with a minimum of CGPA Three. International Baccalaureate: International Baccalaureate with biology and chemistry and physics as the major subjects. Foreign
qualifications must be accompanied by an equivalence certificate from
Chairman of Inter Board Committee, Islamabad or a fully chartered
university. Applicants must understand that meeting the eligibility
criteria and submitting a completed application are no guarantee for
admission.
Fee Structure
College Fee:
Applicants are advised to study carefully the rates of various fees to
be paid to the college, before making an application for admission. They
have to ensure that sufficient financial arrangements exist for a
course of study that lasts for at least 5 years for M.B.B.S. and 4 years
for B.D.S.
Foreign Tuition Fee:
All students coming from foreign countries will have to pay their fees
in US dollars. Furthermore, whether or not foreign national, all
students whose sustaining parents source of income is outside Pakistan,
will be required to pay foreign rate of tuition fee in US dollars. There
are no exceptions to this rule.
1.
In the event of imposition of sales tax, value added tax or any other
tax by the government, university or any other lawful authority, the
institution shall be authorized to charge these taxes from the date
of imposition of these taxes.
2. The institution has the right to revise the fee and other charges at any time in case of unusual and high inflation or rise in the cost of services.
3. The students are allowed to pay the college charges through demand draft or pay order drawn in favor of Lahore Medical & Dental College, Lahore.
4. The college will refund tuition fee in accordance with the policy of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
5. The students are bound to pay their outstanding dues at proper time and college is not obliged to remind for the same.
6. The college notifies fee payments date well in time through notices. Any delay in the payment will render the student liable for paying fine and their annual examination forms are also likely to be withheld.
7. No student will be allowed to appear in the
university examination unless he/she has cleared all college dues
before the registration date of examinations.
8. The students shall pay all additional charges
levied by the government, university or any other regulatory authority
and also he/she will pay the revised fee structure, hostel and
transport charges, necessitated by the extra ordinary circumstances.
Delay in Payment:
It
is mandatory for all students to pay annual tuition fee and other
charges by the due date positively. In case of non-payment by the due
date, the fine will be imposed as under depending upon the delay in
paying the tuition fee and other charges.
a. A fine of Rs. 100/- per day will be charged from the students if fee and other charges are paid within 30 days of due date.
b. A fine of Rs. 200/-per day will be charged from the students if fee and other charges are paid after 30 days of due date.
c.
If a student fails to pay fee and other charges after 60 days of due
date without any valid reason,he will be suspended from attending
classes till he/she pays the dues with fine.
d.
If a student does not pay fee and other charges after 90 days of due
date without solid reason, his/her name will be struck off from the
college rolls. In case of re-admission he/she will have to pay full admission fee.

Scholarship & Financial Aid

Procedure
The
Admission session usually starts in the month of November/December
depending upon the declaration of the result of F.Sc. (Pre-medical) by
the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Admission process
will start in August/September every year and advertisement will come in
the leading dailies. Applications from the eligible candidates are
invited on prescribed form separately for 1st Year MBBS and
BDS. Short-listed candidates are called for interview. Selection is made
on merit. Required academic qualification for admission is as under:-
1. A
candidate must have passed F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or equivalent
examination with a minimum of 60% marks from any Board or University.
2. A
candidate who has passed an examination equivalent to (F.Sc.)
Intermediate Science / HSSC Examination level of Pakistan from a foreign
university or examination body or foreign education system with three
subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects with
60% marks in aggregate as certified by IBCC in the above terms shall be
accepted in aggregate and the candidate shall be eligible for admission
in the MBBS/BDS course with any study group whichever the IBCC may
write.
3. A
candidate must have appeared in the Provincial Entrance Test of their
respective province of domicile and the foreign students have the
alternate option to pass SAT-II examination with minimum score of 550 in
each of three science subjects of which two shall be Biology and
Chemistry.
